📍 Hybrid Working – Primarily remote with travel to Newton Abbot (TQ12 4XX) and sites across Teignbridge as required
Contract: 6 Months

Fox Morris Group are delighted to be working with Teignbridge District Council to recruit an experienced Housing Development Officer on an initial 6-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for a housing development professional with experience delivering affordable housing schemes within a Local Authority or public sector environment. You'll play a key role in managing housing projects from inception through to delivery, working alongside internal teams, elected members and external stakeholders to help deliver high-quality affordable homes across the district.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee affordable housing development projects, ensuring schemes are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
- Act as the Council's client representative, coordinating projects throughout the development lifecycle.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments and elected Members to ensure effective project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors, Registered Providers, Homes England, One Public Estate, town and parish councils, and other external partners.
- Engage with local communities and key stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records for governance, reporting and audit purposes.
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience delivering affordable housing developments, ideally within a Local Authority or public sector setting.
- Strong understanding of the housing challenges affecting coastal, market town and rural communities.
- Good knowledge of the residential development and construction market within Devon (knowledge of Teignbridge would be advantageous).
- Excellent project management, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and able to use specialist housing or project management systems.
