Job Description:

Astute's EPC Power team is partnering with a leading Operator in the Power Industry to recruit an Assistant Plant Operator on an initial 3 months contract basis for it's Operational Energy from Waste plant in Exeter.

The Assistant Plant Operator contract position comes with a day rate from £350.00 to £400.00 per day inside of IR35.





Key skills and responsibilities:

• Monitoring and operating plant equipment, to ensure efficient and continuous plant operations.
• Make plant rounds/inspections to check conditions of plant equipment and records operational data on log sheets.
• Operation of handing systems including remote access cranes, traffic management systems and other mobile plant equipment
• Conduct some basic maintenance tasks as required.
• Proficient with the use of hand tools
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Well-rounded general skills with an understanding of plant
• Strong communication skills with a logical approach to problem solving
• Practical skills including basic fitting or similar would be an advantage, but not essential.
• CPCS card other Plant operators licences would be an advantage (forklift/telehandler)
• Good understanding of industrial Health & Safety practices would be an advantage
• DCS/SCADA experience on an operational plant.

• Exeter
• £350.00 to £400.00 per day (Inside IR35)
• Start date - August 2026
