Assistant Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established contractor delivering bespoke construction and fit-out projects across the commercial sector, with individual schemes valued up to £5m.
Working as part of an experienced commercial team, you will gain exposure to a varied portfolio of projects across sectors including leisure, office and retail. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their commercial skills, broaden their experience and progress their career within a supportive team.

The Role:

• Assisting with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets and tender documentation.
• Undertaking quantity take-offs and preparing bills of quantities (BOQs).
• Supporting the procurement of subcontractors, suppliers and materials.
• Monitoring project costs, variations, change orders and progress payments.
• Attending site visits to monitor progress, quality and compliance with project specifications.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records, contracts, correspondence and financial reports.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, or currently working towards one.
• Previous experience within a Quantity Surveying or construction environment would be advantageous, although graduates and those with relevant placement experience will also be considered.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with good attention to detail.
• Confident communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with familiarity with quantity surveying software beneficial.
• Full UK driving licence.
