Chef / Cook – Residential Care Home (Refurbished Kitchen) – AV1980

Dawlish, South Devon (near Torquay & Exeter)
£13.45 per hour (weekdays) | £13.85 per hour (weekends)
Full Time & Part Time Opportunities Available
⏰ Shifts: 8:00am – 6:00pm

Vacancies Available:

• 1 x Part-Time Chef/Cook – 20 hours per week (2 shifts per week)
• 1 x Full-Time Chef/Cook – 30 hours per week (3 shifts per week)

About the Role

We are looking for passionate and reliable Chef/Cooks to join a welcoming residential care home in Dawlish. You will be working in a fully refurbished, modern kitchen, preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals for elderly residents in a warm and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking fresh, balanced meals daily
• Catering for individual dietary and nutritional needs
• Ensuring high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
• Supporting menu planning and food variety
• Managing stock rotation and basic ordering
• Working collaboratively with care and support staff
• Promoting a positive dining experience for residents

About You

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef (care home experience desirable but not essential)
• Understanding of dietary requirements in elderly care (or willingness to learn)
• Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
• Strong awareness of food hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Safety preferred)
• Friendly, caring approach with a passion for good food
