Children's Residential Support Worker
Location: Exeter

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? An established specialist provider is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a modern semi-independent residential home in Exeter. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support children and adolescents aged 8 to 16 years with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours, within a safe, nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Encourage young people to participate in activities and develop responsibility for their own lives
• Maintain a warm, homely atmosphere within the residential setting
• Safely and sympathetically manage challenging behaviours
• Protect young people from potential risks to their health and welfare
• Support young people in developing independence and emotional resilience
• Ensure the environment is safe and care plans, communication preferences are kept up-to-date
• Build positive relationships with staff, families, social workers, and other professionals involved in the care of young people

Essential Requirements:

• Experience as a Children's Residential Support Worker or working with young people is desirable but not essential
• Experience within healthcare or social care environments is advantageous
• Full UK driving licence, as transportation of young people may be required
• Over the age of 21 and able to commute to Exeter
