Commercial Gas Engineer

Exeter

Salary - up to £53,000 + Overtime & NO CALL OUT

Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00

We're recruiting for one of the UK's leading Facilities Management companies to work on a prestigious contract for a globally recognised independent veterinary care provider as a Commercial Gas Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established team of engineers responsible for delivering high-quality planned and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of modern veterinary hospitals and practices.

In this role, you'll be working across a range of veterinary facilities across the Exeter area, ensuring all gas and heating systems are maintained to the highest standards while supporting the wider engineering team to deliver an exceptional service in a live healthcare environment.

Job Responsibilities for a Commercial Gas Engineer:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on commercial and domestic gas systems
• Servicing, fault finding, repairing and maintaining commercial boilers, heating systems, plant room equipment and associated controls
• Maintaining domestic gas appliances including boilers, water heaters and pipework where required
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out first-time fixes wherever possible to minimise downtime
• Completing gas safety inspections, tightness testing and ensuring all work complies with current Gas Safe regulations
• Supporting minor mechanical maintenance works on pumps, valves, expansion vessels and associated HVAC equipment
• Working alongside subcontractors and specialist engineers to complete maintenance and small project works
• Accurately completing service reports, maintenance records and compliance documentation using electronic systems
• Ensuring all work is completed safely in accordance with company procedures and permit-to-work systems while delivering excellent customer service

Experience/Requirements for a Commercial Gas Engineer:

• ACS Commercial Gas qualifications (COCN1 or CODNCO1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1A or equivalent)
• Valid Gas Safe Registration
• Experience working within commercial building maintenance or facilities management environments
• Good working knowledge of commercial boilers, heating systems and associated plant
• Domestic ACS qualifications would be advantageous
• Ability to diagnose faults and carry out both planned and reactive maintenance
• Strong understanding of health & safety procedures and compliance within occupied commercial environments
• Full UK Driving Licence
