Geotechnical Engineer
£35,000 – £40,000 + Overtime + Christmas Bonus + Pension + Healthcare

We're working with an established geotechnical consultancy that specialises in supporting major civil engineering and infrastructure projects for some of the UK's leading Tier 1 contractors.

They're looking for a Geotechnical Engineer with around 3–5 years' experience to join their Exeter team.

What makes this opportunity particularly attractive is the combination of genuinely interesting projects, exceptionally well-managed sites and a regional workload covering Devon, Somerset and Cornwall. No endless nationwide travel or spending half your working week living out of a suitcase.

The role

You'll be involved in:

• Planning, coordinating and supervising ground investigations.
• Overseeing drilling, sampling and site testing activities.
• Soil and rock logging and recording ground conditions.
• Preparing factual reports and technical documentation.
• Liaising with contractors and project teams.
• Maintaining excellent health and safety standards on site.

What we're looking for

You'll have a relevant degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline, alongside 3–5 years' practical experience in ground investigation or geotechnical engineering.

You'll be comfortable working on site, managing investigations and communicating with contractors and clients.
