Laboratory Technician

The Opportunity:

If you are seeking a Laboratory Technician’s role within an interesting, growing business who work across a number of industry sectors, this could be the opportunity you seek.  You will be required to work across a 3 shift pattern on a rotation (6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am) which will reward you with a 15% uplift on the basic salary. 

The Role:

• Analysis of alloy samples by instrumental techniques using; Combustion, Optical emission and X-ray Fluorescence Samples include preliminary melt samples, certification samples, and remelt samples from casting plants and external customers
• Preparation of samples for analysis
• Routine maintenance and standardisation of laboratory equipment
• Inputting of results to company database
• Calculating bath additions during heat manufacture

Preferred Skills:

• A science background with good mathematical and computer skills.
• Ability to interpret results and make decisions on alloy chemistry adjustments within the scope of the role.
• Flexibility to work within a small team to provide 24/7 laboratory cover with the ability to work across this 3 shift work pattern.
• Meticulous, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Able to work alone, self-sufficiently, and independently prioritise tasks.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Working Hours: 
37.5 hours per week, 3-Shift (6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am) WITH A 15% SHIFT PREMIUM
