Bluebird Care is looking for compassionate and reliable Live-In Carers to provide dedicated 1-to-1 care to customers in their own homes throughout Devon.

As a Live-In Carer, you'll stay in a customer's home for approximately 2–6 weeks at a time, providing personalised care, companionship and practical support.

Your role is to help your customer remain safe, comfortable and independent in the place they know and love, while protecting their dignity, choices and quality of life.

We offer opportunities for both employed Live-In Care Assistants and self-employed Live-In Carers, subject to suitability and placement availability.

What You'll Do

• Provide personal care, including support with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting.
• Support customers with medication routines in line with their individual care plan.
• Prepare meals and encourage good nutrition and hydration.
• Help with shopping, household tasks and maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable home.
• Support customers with mobility and the safe use of equipment, including hoists and wheelchairs where required.
• Provide companionship, conversation and reassurance, helping customers enjoy their usual hobbies, activities and routines.
• Accompany customers to appointments and outings where required and help them stay connected with family, friends and loved ones.
• Observe and report any changes in a customer's health or wellbeing and maintain clear, accurate and timely care records.
• Follow individual care plans and all relevant safeguarding, medication, moving and handling, and health and safety procedures.

About You

• You may already have experience as a Live-In Carer, Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Support Worker, Home Care Assistant, Domiciliary Carer, Care Worker or Personal Assistant.
• More importantly, we're looking for people who are kind, dependable and passionate about providing high-quality care.
• You'll be compassionate and treat every customer with dignity, patience and respect.
• You'll be reliable, trustworthy and committed to completing regular live-in placements.
• You'll be comfortable working independently, using your initiative and responding calmly to different situations.
• You'll be a confident communicator who can build positive relationships with customers, their families and the wider care team.
• You'll also be able to maintain professional boundaries, follow care plans and complete accurate care records.

• £35,000–£40,000 average annual earnings, based on working approximately 40 weeks per year.

Important Information Before Applying

We do not offer UK visa sponsorship or sponsorship transfers.

You must already have the legal right to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Successful applicants must attend mandatory training in Exeter from Monday to Friday before starting their first live-in care placement. Attendance is required on every training day.

Candidates are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation while attending training. A contribution towards accommodation costs may be available where required.
