Senior Civil Engineer
Exeter
£50k-£55k plus benefits
Ready to take the next step in your civil engineering career? This could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Our client is an award-winning Exeter-based consultancy specialising in development planning and infrastructure, with a growing team of transport planners, civil engineers and technicians. With an impressive portfolio of major development projects across the Southwest, the business offers the chance to work on varied, high-profile schemes while developing your technical and professional expertise.
The role will see you working within an infrastructure design team, providing civil engineering input from the planning and Reserved Matters stages through to detailed design and technical approvals. With multiple projects running at any one time, no two days will be the same, giving you plenty of variety and the opportunity to take real ownership of your work.
The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in Civil Engineering with around five years' industry experience and a background in highway infrastructure. You'll be confident applying design standards and best practice, including Manual for Streets, DMRB and LTN 1/20, and will have strong AutoCAD skills with a keen eye for detail and quality.
Experience should include contributing to development masterplans, site level analysis and the preparation of preliminary highway and drainage designs for planning applications. A good understanding of detailed design and the S104, S38 and S278 approval processes is also important. Familiarity with Site 3D and FLOW would be advantageous, although training can be provided for candidates experienced with alternative design software.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential, along with some experience of supporting, guiding or mentoring junior members of a team.
This is a fantastic chance to join a forward-thinking consultancy where professional development is genuinely encouraged. The business operates an ICE-accredited training scheme, with experienced Chartered and Incorporated Civil Engineers providing guidance and mentoring to those working towards professional qualifications.
The role also benefits from a hybrid working policy, providing the flexibility to combine office-based collaboration with agile working and a healthy work-life balance.
If you're an ambitious Senior Civil Engineer looking for a varied role, exciting projects and genuine opportunities to progress your career, this could be an excellent next move. Send your CV to Graham Ventham at Conrad Consulting to be considered.
