Senior Water Engineer/Plumber

Our client, ISS, is seeking a Senior Water Engineer/Plumber to deliver high-quality planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across commercial and domestic water systems.

This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with water regulations, health and safety standards, and client governance requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of plumbing, water hygiene, and closed system maintenance activities across a mobile portfolio.

The position requires a technically strong and safety-focused professional with experience in facilities management environments. You will be responsible for completing inspections, remedial works, testing, reporting, and certification while maintaining high standards of compliance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on commercial and domestic water systems.
• Carry out inspections, repairs, testing, fault-finding, and adjustments in line with plumbing regulations and manufacturer guidance.
• Complete reactive and planned disinfection works, including cold water tank/system and mains disinfection.
• Perform PPM water hygiene monitoring and inspection tasks using customer CAFM systems.
• Survey, quote, and deliver remedial works relating to water hygiene and water treatment.
• Undertake pipework modifications, TMV installations, RPZ valve installation and commissioning, CWST bypassing, and unvented hot water conversions.
• Carry out closed system works including sampling, dosing, flushing, acid descaling, and inhibitor dosing.
• Produce detailed reports and issue certification for completed works, ensuring full compliance.

Skills and Experience

• Plumbing qualification to NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience in plumbing or mechanical building services maintenance.
• Proven experience delivering reactive and planned preventative maintenance in commercial environments.
• Strong working knowledge of water regulations and their practical application.
• Experience installing and maintaining unvented hot water systems (calorifiers), including inspection and cleaning.
• Experience working within a facilities management environment.
• Ability to produce clear technical reports and certification.
• Full UK driving licence. This is a mobile role and a van and fuel card are provided.
