Site Agent

The Company A well-established civil engineering contractor with a strong presence across Exeter, Devon and Somerset is continuing to grow its regional delivery team.

The business has built a respected reputation for delivering technically demanding infrastructure schemes, with a secured pipeline of projects typically ranging from £5m to £40m.

Its portfolio covers:

• Highways and major infrastructure
• Bridge and structural works
• Section 278 schemes
• Public realm improvements
• Road widening projects
• Junction upgrades

With a healthy forward workload and further projects secured across the region, they’re now looking to appoint an experienced Site Agent to join the Exeter team and take responsibility for the delivery of key schemes.

The Role

As a Site Agent, you’ll take a leading role on site, coordinating teams and subcontractors while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme, budget and quality requirements.
You’ll work closely with clients, project teams and the wider business, taking ownership of day-to-day site performance and keeping delivery moving in the right direction.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing daily site operations and coordinating project activities
• Leading site teams and overseeing subcontractor performance
• Chairing client, progress and site meetings
• Preparing short-term programmes and look-ahead schedules
• Reviewing RAMS and maintaining high health and safety standards
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Monitoring progress against programme and project requirements
• Maintaining quality assurance throughout the construction process
• Working collaboratively with commercial, engineering and operational teams

About You

You’ll be an experienced Site Agent with a proven background in delivering civil engineering projects for a main contractor.

You’ll ideally bring:

• A degree in Civil Engineering
• Previous experience working for a civil engineering main contractor
• A background across highways, infrastructure and/or structural projects
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Clear and confident communication
• Good commercial awareness
• A proactive approach to solving site and delivery challenges
• A strong commitment to health, safety, quality and compliance
