Are you a Town Planner looking for your next opportunity with an established and forward-thinking planning consultancy?

I'm currently working with a well-regarded planning and development consultancy that is looking to strengthen its Exeter team with the appointment of a Town Planner.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planner who wants to work on a varied portfolio of projects, develop their career and gain exposure to a broad range of planning matters across the South West.

As a Town Planner, you'll work closely with clients, colleagues, local authorities and other stakeholders, providing planning advice and supporting projects from inception through to delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and submitting planning applications and associated documentation
• Undertaking planning research and policy assessments
• Providing planning advice to a range of clients
• Supporting the preparation of planning strategies and development proposals
• Liaising with local planning authorities and other stakeholders
• Managing your own workload and contributing to wider project teams
• Assisting with appeals, representations and other planning matters
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

We're looking for someone with a genuine interest in planning and development who is keen to progress within a consultancy environment.

You'll ideally have:

• A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
• Relevant experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or similar environment
• A good understanding of the UK planning system and current planning policy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• A commercially aware and client-focused approach
• Membership of the RTPI, or working towards chartership, would be advantageous
